The Predator

The predator in American society is an invisible and insatiable force: the normalization of what the rest of the world will not accept…

I read this in a blog post earlier this week.

When did this happen?
We shifted the standard…shifted the moral bar.
Violence, sex, and drugs.
Intolerance, judgement, and despair.

When and how did this become “normal?”
When did we stop asking?
Stop helping?
Decide it wasn’t our responsibility?

Reminded me of one of my favorite songs, “Do Something” by Matthew West:

If not us, then who
If not me and you
Right now, it’s time for us to do something.
If not now, then when

Will we see an end
To all this pain
It’s not enough to do nothing
Right now, it’s time for us to do something

What will you do? What will you stand for? Each day is an opportunity, YOUR OPPORTUNITY, to so something. Right now.
