Days go by and we can miss the goodness right in front of us. The love and hope and meaning…right here.
Small moments: walking, looking, listening.
It is a posture of the heart more than it is a happening.
The posture that can make any ordinary moment extraordinary.
The posture that allows the heart to open in a way that fills our eyes with tears of joy and vibrates our whole being with gratitude.
This is the gift of a sabbatical:
- Turns small moments into big ones
- Reveals the mystery and the meaning that’s right there in front of us
- Allows us to glimpse the Divine presence that is ever present
- Invites us to consider that this mistake or trouble or even massive upending offers us a redirection, or a whole new way of being or seeing
- Reminds us that everything is sacred if we are open to it
This is what time + space + prayer + meditation can do. May we all make space for a sabbatical in some form at some time. If that feels impossible we can start with a more intentional daily or a weekly sabbath.
To drink in the moments of our lives. Allow the depth and meaning of each moment to find and be part of us during a purposefully slow and sacred time so they can change us…and so we can access them in the everyday moments of our lives.
